Questions

At Prelude Behavioral Counseling, we understand that seeking help can raise many questions. We aim to clarify your concerns and support you on your journey to better mental health.

How Do I Get Started?

To begin your journey with Prelude, we'll start with an initial consultation. During this meeting, we will discuss your needs and outline your personalized treatment plan. Click here to book a session.

What Can I Expect in Therapy?

In therapy, you'll experience a safe, non-judgmental environment where you can express your feelings openly. Everyone's therapy journey is different. Our approach is tailored to meet your specific needs, helping you navigate through challenges.

How Long Does Counseling Take?

The duration of therapy varies based on individual goals and needs. Typically, clients attend sessions on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, and we continually assess progress together.

We also provide virtual meeting options when you need them.

Standard sessions are 55 minutes long.

Are Sessions Confidential and Private?

Absolutely. All sessions at Prelude Behavioral Counseling are confidential, ensuring that your privacy is respected and upheld. This fosters a trusting relationship for effective therapy.

How much does therapy cost?

The two most common payment options are through your insurance provider or private-pay. When you book your first session, we'll have our initial consultation and discuss which option works best for you.

What does the therapy process look like?

Step One: Initial Consultation

When you reach out, we'll respond by setting up an initial consultation and discuss why you're looking into therapy. Then, we'll discuss your payment options, either insurance or private pay, in most cases.
And, finally, we'll schedule the official intake.

Step Two: Simple Practice Client Portal
To keep your information confidential and up-to-date with your healthcare provider, we'll use Simple Practice to complete intake paperwork online. Simple Practice is an industry-standard software for licensed therapists. You can also use Simple Practice to securely communicate with your therapist.

Step Three: Intake
After you've created your account with Simple Practice, we'll have our intake session. Here, we'll do an assessment of symptoms and challenges, possibly assign a diagnosis, establish the goals you'd like to accomplish, and develop a treatment plan to provide a clear path of what we’re working towards.
